Why did you get involved with roller derby?

I was excited about the idea of taking part in a contact sport, especially one that’s so body positive.

The best thing about being a Cat is:

The fun and comradery we have within the league. It’s great to get to know each individual and watch them progress and kick ass.

Tell us about yourself

I’m Emma, I’m an Aries, I adore rain and Vanilla scented stuff. Cake and cheese are my absolute weaknesses.

I have 3 Cat babies, a Bearded Dragon and a breeding pair of Kribensis which are the cool little fish that suck their babies into their mouth to protect them from predators… or their own shadow.

I enjoy playing video games and love to have board game evenings with friends.

Any hobbies outside of roller derby?

I enjoy Arts and crafts, gardening and binge watching TV series. Cycling is pretty fun too

Tell us about your skate set up

Antik spyder standard set up with Radar Presto 95a wheels. My toe guards are battered leather ones with nifty little silver stars on them. They were given to me by a friend when I first started so I treasure them. My helmet is S1 lifer in “champagne” which is code for super sparkly.

What would you say to someone thinking of starting roller derby?

Give it a try, the risk of trying something new is totally worth the reward when you figure out that you love it.
